Preparation
* Medications: Inform your doctor and the lab about all medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and especially Biotin. Patients on Biotin supplement may have interference in some immunoassays. With individuals taking high dose Biotin (more than 5 mg per day) supplements, at least 8-hour wait time before blood draw is recommended. ACE activity is inhibited by EDTA and by heavy metal ions. Upon administration of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory drug, ACE serum activity is markedly reduced but usually returns to normal levels in about 12 hours.
* Recent Medical Events: Inform your doctor about any recent blood transfusions, multiple vaccinations or transfusions, as these may affect results. Serum with cryoglobulin or high lipid levels may cause false-positive test results for RA.
* Clinical History: A comprehensive clinical history is absolutely essential for the pathologist and clinician to accurately interpret the results. Provide details about:
* Your symptoms, especially respiratory (e.g., shortness of breath, cough) and systemic (e.g., joint pain, muscle weakness, skin rashes, fever).
* Any provisional diagnosis or clinical suspicion your treating doctor has (e.g., suspected ILD, connective tissue disease).
* Relevant medical history, including any known autoimmune conditions or family history of such diseases.
* Elevated CRP values are non-specific and should not be interpreted without clinical history.
* Exposure to Environmental Toxins/Lifestyle Factors: Note that elevated CRP can also be genetic, age-related, linked to a sedentary lifestyle, or exposure to environmental toxins/diet including refined, processed, or manufactured foods.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Autoimmune ILD Panel Max test?
This comprehensive 31-parameter panel detects autoimmune and inflammatory markers associated with interstitial lung diseases, including connective tissue disease-related ILD, sarcoidosis, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Is fasting required for this panel?
No, fasting is not mandatory for the Autoimmune ILD Panel. Serum sample can be collected at any time of the day.
What sample is required and how much volume?
Serum sample of 5 mL is required. The blood should be collected in a plain serum separator tube and allowed to clot before centrifugation.
How are the results interpreted?
Elevated autoantibodies such as ANA, RF, anti-CCP, ACE, or myositis-specific antibodies help identify the underlying autoimmune cause of ILD. Results are correlated with clinical presentation, imaging, and pulmonary function tests by your physician.
Can medications affect the results?
Immunosuppressants, corticosteroids, and biologic therapies may alter autoantibody levels. Inform your doctor about all current medications before testing.
What is the turnaround time for this panel?
The Autoimmune ILD Panel Max is typically reported within 48 to 72 hours due to the 31-parameter analysis. Verified PDF reports are available via www.drpatholab.in or WhatsApp/Email.
