Methodology
ImmunoHistochemistry: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a powerful molecular pathology technique that involves visualizing specific proteins (antigens) within prepared tissue sections. For the CD-19 IHC Marker test, specially designed antibodies that specifically bind to the CD19 protein are applied to thin slices of the patient's tissue. If CD19 is present in the cells, the antibody will bind to it. This antigen-antibody reaction is then made visible under a microscope using a detection system that produces a colored precipitate or fluorescent signal at the site of CD19 expression. This allows pathologists to precisely locate and assess the presence, distribution, and intensity of CD19 expression within the cellular architecture of the tissue, which is crucial for diagnosis.
Sample Required
TISSUE: Tissue Biopsy (e.g., Lymph Node Biopsy, Bone Marrow Biopsy, Excised Tumor/Tissue Specimen), typically as a Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) Block.
Preparation
Preparation for a CD-19 IHC Marker test is primarily related to the collection of the tissue sample itself, which is an invasive medical procedure. * Biopsy Procedure: The patient will undergo a biops... Read more
