Methodology
ICP-MS: It is a highly sensitive and precise analytical technique used for the quantitative detection of trace elements and heavy metals in biological samples. In this method, the urine sample is introduced into an inductively coupled plasma, which ionizes the nickel atoms. These ions are then directed into a mass spectrometer, which separates them based on their mass-to-charge ratio and measures their abundance. ICP-MS offers excellent detection limits and specificity, making it ideal for accurately measuring very low concentrations of nickel in urine, even in complex biological matrices.
